Boroondara City Council has questioned the legitimacy of Anastacia Snelleksz’s Australian pole dance studio Pole Princess. The council claims her business opens the neighborhood up to possible threats because it attracts “undesirable” clientele. Ms. Snelleksz insists her students are regular women who use pole dancing as a way to keep fit. She claims that not being able to operate for three months because of the objections meant she had lost $200,000 in revenue. “It was really unjustified and really quite hurtful. I tried to explain what we do and that their opinion of what we do is so far from true, but they weren’t willing to have a bar of it,” she said.
