Every now and then, I get so moved by you Poler Bears, I just have to let you know. One of our very own Poler Bears, Eda Marbury is officially going viral.  Just the other day, I was on the subway, wearing my United Pole Artists trucker hat.  A young woman on the train asked me about my hat, asked me if I was a pole dancer.  I told her, “yes”.  She says, “I saw this video about a girl who lost 65 pounds from pole dancing.  I really want to try it now.”  It wasn’t until later that day I realized that she was talking about Eda. How amazing, that pole dancing is not only changing lives, but is inspiring others to be less fearful of trying it.  There are many of us that were once hesitant to try poling for several reasons.  Our bodies, what will people think, I’m not strong enough, etc, etc.  But the more people like Eda, Roz Mays and even Deb Roach keep doing what they are doing, the more others will realize, literally, anyone can pole dance. Society loves to tell us what we should and should not be doing.  Becoming free of being compartmentalized is transforming.  Eda’s story is just that.  On behalf of United Pole Artists, I would like to thank all of you for being the amazing, loving and supportive people that you are.  There is nothing in the world like the pole dance community.  The acceptance you have for others is overwhelming.
